Acceptance
By accessing this website and providing personal data, the user acknowledges and accepts the conditions described in this Privacy Policy, authorising the collection, use and processing of their data in accordance with the rules set out here. This policy applies exclusively to data collected and processed through this website.
What data we collect
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. In the course of its activity, Global Sport collects and processes the data needed to provide its services and products, namely name, address, telephone number, email address and, where applicable, identification number for registration and invoicing purposes.
When and how we collect data
Data is collected by telephone, in writing or through this website, always with consent. As a rule, it is collected when the user registers, submits the contact form, applies to volunteer or subscribes to communications. Some data is mandatory; without it, it may not be possible to provide the requested service.
Purposes of processing
The data is used to manage the relationship with the user, to provide the contracted services, to answer requests for information, to organise volunteering and to adapt the services to participants' needs. With consent, it may also be used to send institutional information, campaigns, event news and evaluation surveys. The data is not used for any purpose other than the one for which consent was given.
Rights of the data subject
The data subject is guaranteed the right of access, updating, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection to the processing of their personal data. These rights may be exercised free of charge through the contacts given in this policy.
Marketing communications
The user may object at any time to the use of their data for marketing purposes or to receiving information, simply by contacting the organisers through the channels provided.
Disclosure of data to third parties
Global Sport may use third parties to provide certain services (for example, the registration or timing platform). In such cases, it takes appropriate measures to ensure that these parties offer high guarantees of data protection and process the data only on behalf of Global Sport, which remains responsible for the data provided.
If the user allows the statistics and marketing categories in this website's cookie panel, browsing data (browser identifiers, not registration data) is also disclosed to these recipients: Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta Pixel, campaign measurement) and Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Clarity, aggregated analysis of behaviour on the site, and Microsoft/Bing Ads, campaign measurement). The list of cookies stored by each is set out in the Cookie Policy.
International transfers
Where the provision of services involves transferring data outside Portugal, Global Sport will strictly comply with the applicable legal provisions, checking the adequacy of the destination country in terms of data protection. This is the case for the recipients identified in the section "Disclosure of data to third parties": Meta Platforms, Inc. and Microsoft Corporation are based in the United States of America and may process there the browsing data collected with consent. [TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE LAWYER: safeguard mechanism applicable to each transfer, for example the EU-US adequacy decision (Data Privacy Framework) and/or standard contractual clauses, with the certification or agreement in force at the date of this publication.]
Cookies
This website uses cookies that are essential to its operation and, with your consent, statistics and marketing cookies. For more information, see the Cookie Policy.
Retention of consent data
The choice you make in the cookie panel (which categories you accepted or rejected) is kept for 6 months from the date you record it, after which you are asked again. The retention periods for the browsing data itself by each recipient (Meta, Microsoft) are set out in the Cookie Policy and are defined by each of those third parties.
Changes
Global Sport reserves the right to review or adjust this Privacy Policy at any time, and any changes will be duly published on this website.
